CHICAGO (Sept. 20, 2024) — Related Midwest, in partnership with 210 Design House, a luxury kitchen, bath, closet and furnishings showroom, hosted its 21st annual Charity Golf Classic at Chicago’s Harborside International Golf Course on September 19. The event attracted 300 real estate and construction industry professionals, with more than 70 participating foursomes, raising over $470,000 for three Chicago-area charities: HIRE360, Saturday Place and the Respiratory Health Association.
Throughout its 21-year history, the Golf Classic has raised over $7 million to support organizations that provide services and programs for children and youth across Chicago. The event has consistently supported HIRE360, a cross-industry partnership that helps high school students pursue careers in the construction and building trades, and Saturday Place, which offers enhanced academic programming for third and fourth graders. This year, the event also benefited the Respiratory Health Association, which works to prevent lung disease, improve asthma management in children, promote clean air and enhance lives through education, research and policy change.
“Strengthening communities is at the heart of our profession, and it extends to our philanthropic mission as well,” said Don Biernacki, Executive Vice President of Construction at Related Midwest and member of the Golf Classic Committee. “We are humbled by the support of our industry colleagues who join us year after year to raise critical funding for organizations dedicated to improving the lives of youth in communities across Chicagoland.”
“We are honored to partner with Related Midwest in hosting this impactful event, whose long-term community benefits are immeasurable,” said Rama Dandamudi, CEO of 210 Design House and Golf Classic Committee member. “As long-time supporters of Saturday Place, we’ve seen firsthand the transformative impact it has on school-age children. Our support of Saturday Place, along with HIRE360 and the Respiratory Health Association, underscores our commitment to making Chicago a better place for all.”
“Each year, the support and excitement around the Golf Classic builds, and 2024 was no exception,” said Ann Thompson, FAIA, Executive Vice President of Architecture and Design at Related Midwest and Golf Classic Committee member. “Bringing the industry together for causes that improve outcomes for our city’s youth is always a rewarding experience, and we’re grateful for the generosity of everyone who participated and contributed to making this event such a success.”
