CHICAGO—Related Midwest today announced that 900 Randolph, Fulton Market’s newest high-rise, has celebrated its topping out with the pouring of the final floor. The project, opening Summer 2023, will make history as the 43-story building is the city’s first high-rise constructed with a Black-owned Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), co-leading alongside LR Contracting, as general contractor.
Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, 900 Randolph in Fulton Market features convertible, one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences, including penthouses, complemented by a full suite of amenities and services. All apartments feature sweeping views of the city skyline and Fulton Market neighborhood, which feature some of the best restaurants, bars, transportation and conveniences the city has to offer. 900 Randolph is Related’s third collaboration with Morris Adjmi Architects nationwide and second in Chicago; the companies most recently collaborated on the 300-unit Landmark West Loop tower at 1035 West Van Buren, which opened in 2016. 900 Randolph will be the fourth project in Chicago under the Related Rentals brand, which are projects synonymous with luxury living and thoughtful services and benefits.
While adding architectural significance to Chicago’s skyline, the development will also be a model for the future as it is the first major building constructed under new Affordable Illinois legislation, with 80 percent market-rate and 20 percent affordable units, totaling 60 affordable residences. 900 Randolph is an example of Related’s commitment to affordable housing and demonstrates how developers can meet demands for market-rate housing while also meeting the need for homes that are safe, modern and accessible to all income levels.
“Today represents an important milestone in the construction of this history-making project,” said Curt Bailey, President of Related Midwest. “We’re excited to open this building in the Summer of 2023 and bring the Related Rentals lifestyle to the Fulton Market District.”
The building will include a 24-hour concierge and doorman, a dedicated lobby and five-star services including move-in coordination as well as dog walking and grooming. Indoor amenities include a fitness and wellness center with a club-level gym featuring top-of-the-line cardiovascular and strength equipment, a children’s play suite, a co-working space with modular seating and private conference areas, an event suite featuring a catering kitchen and direct access to the recreational deck, a lounge area and a bike room. Outdoor amenities include a landscaped recreational sun deck with pool, spa, fire pit lounges and outdoor kitchens. Additional storage and private garage parking will also be available.
“After working with BOWA Construction for 10 years, it’s especially meaningful to reach this milestone together and to showcase BOWA’s wealth of skill and deep commitment to quality,” said Don Biernacki, Executive Vice President of Construction at Related Midwest and President of LR Contracting. “The project was innovative from concept to execution, and I am immensely proud of our entire team’s contribution to Chicago’s history.”
