Amy Mayer is Vice President of Construction at Related Midwest, where she manages projects in development and construction and serves as the owner’s representative with outside general contractors. Mayer brings decades of experience in the construction and real estate industries and is skilled in construction planning, cost savings and budget oversight.
Since joining the company in 1996, Mayer has worked on projects in Illinois, Michigan and Colorado and held several roles before ultimately ascending to her current position as Vice President. She has led teams behind the construction of numerous luxury residential and mixed-use developments including Lathrop, Taylor Street Library and Apartments, One Bennett Park, Landmark West Loop, 500 Lake Shore Drive, the Residences on Lake Shore Park, Park Tower, the Town of Fort Sheridan and the Mayfair.
Most recently, Mayer led the teams responsible for constructing the second phase of the historic Lathrop mixed-income community along the Chicago River, the award-winning Taylor Street Library and Apartments, and the One Bennett Park luxury high rise. She also is actively managing the construction of Roosevelt Square, an innovative, master-planned, mixed-income community on Chicago's Near West Side, as well as preconstruction of several other projects.
Mayer is a licensed architect and a LEED-accredited professional. She is an alumna of the University of Illinois, where she earned both her Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Studies and Master’s Degree in Architecture. Mayer is committed to supporting women in construction by providing guidance and mentorship to young women entering the field and helping them to navigate the industry. She is a founding board member of the Chicago chapter of Professional Women in Construction.
