It was the most wonderful time of the year at Northpoint Apartments earlier this month! While many celebrate the holidays with friends or family, the complex offered residents an opportunity to do both—plus connect with other members of the community and their local Alderwoman—at a holiday party on December 10.
More than 200 residents gathered at Northpoint’s community center, located in Rogers Park, to spread seasonal cheer. The 49th ward’s Alderwoman, Maria Hadden, also stopped by the festivities to celebrate with residents. Northpoint frequently hosts events, like last year’s Back to School party.
Not only did Santa sleigh in for the celebration, but he was also busy giving out presents. Related Midwest, Related Management and The Related Affordable Foundation partnered with Chi Gives Back to arrange a toy giveaway at the event. Children were able to choose from a selection of gifts—sponsored by The Related Affordable Foundation—based on their age.
Some of the presents included footballs, wireless speakers, and LED vanity mirrors for teens; NASA rocket launchers, art easels, and science kits for children aged 6 to 12; and construction trucks, baby dolls, and bath toys for children under 6. The Foundation also brightened up the spirits of senior residents with complimentary stocking stuffers like mugs, tea, hand lotion, and Garrett’s popcorn.
The holiday festivities continued with family portraits with Santa. Participating families went home with a printed photo in front of a fun, seasonal backdrop. Residents also enjoyed wintery treats like hot chocolate and holiday cookies.
Related Midwest wishes all its residents a happy holiday season!
