Related Midwest and Related Affordable are proud to announce two Illinois students are among the 11 recipients of scholarships awarded annually by the Related Affordable Foundation. Each year, the Foundation distributes scholarships to deserving high school seniors who live in affordable housing communities across the country. Now in its 5th year, the Scholarship Program aims to reduce financial barriers and empower young adults to pursue higher education.
We would like to extend our congratulations to Kemarion B., a resident of Parkway Gardens in Chicago, and Ryan M., a resident of The Woods in Decatur, Ill., on this achievement. Kemarion is studying Elementary Education at Northern Illinois University and expressed his gratitude, saying he feels “truly blessed to have been awarded this scholarship for the third year.” Ryan, a talented musician majoring in music at Eastern Illinois University, plays four instruments and dreams of a future in the arts.
Scholarship recipients are selected based on their financial need, academic performance and demonstrated commitment to earning a postsecondary degree. To support students throughout their academic journey, the scholarships are renewable annually for those who meet eligibility requirements.
